The 4800i was designed to be extra tough to meet the challenges of industrial applications. Full shock-absorbing rubber protects the imager from dozens of 6.5 feet (2 meter) drops to concrete. In addition to an IP54 rating the 4800i is backed by an industry-best 3-year warranty.

The 4.5” focus in the 4800SF are optimized for reading 10-mil matrix and higher density linear bar codes. This SF optical platform is ideally suited to replace HHP’s IT4410HD10. With nearly 4” (10.2cm) depth of field (DOF) on 10-mil matrix codes and 6.6 mil PDF417, operators will quickly and easily find the best decode zone. In addition, linear codes, as dense as 5-mil, can be read with ease making this focus the ideal solution for mixed high density linear and matrix reading applications. The 4800i data sheet details the DOF reading performance for both of these new imagers.

In addition to this new focus, the entire family of 4000 series area imagers now have a new and improved aiming system. Both the Standard Range (SR) and Special Focus (SF) optical configurations now have a bright green aimer that offers superior contrast to the red illumination.
